Yoga
The Western Hills Athletic Club is offering Yoga in the
fall
of 2011! Hatha Yoga is a style of Yoga
dating back to 1300 A.D. that unites the body and mind through
breath and movement. It incorporates poses (asanas) and breath work
to create a harmony in the body and mind. The benefits of Yoga have
been documented and are as follows:

decreases stress

balances the nervous system

promotes balance

improves posture
-
improves digestion, respiration and circulation

promotes introspection
-
improves overall well being

Participants need to bring their own yoga
mats, and a beach towel to assist with certain poses. A cleaning
solution will be available to spray down mats after class eash day.
You can pay for classes one at a time. We
will take checks, or you can give us credit card info. We will
charge the card every two weeks or so with the amount of classes you
have attended.
Program times may be expanded in the
spring depending on the success of the fall program.
About the instructor:
Jane Schweppe has been doing Hatha Yoga,
as well as other types of Yoga, for 25 years . She was recently
certified through Yoga Yoga to teach Hatha Yoga.
She
is a graduate of the University of Texas. Jane has long had a
passion for helping people to exercise and live a healthier
lifestyle, and has been a long time supporter of programs at WHAC.
