About Coach

Cheryl Ridall

Cheryl Ridall joins WHAC WAVES as the 2026 Head Age Group Swim Coach, bringing over 20 years of experience in athletic coaching and health and wellness leadership. She spent 11 years as an Assistant Coach in Division I women’s swimming at the University of Texas and Indiana University, helping develop athletes at the highest collegiate level.

While at the University of Texas, Cheryl also led the six-week summer Longhorn Swim Camps in partnership with the UT Men’s Assistant Coach. These camps welcomed age-group swimmers from around the world and focused on skill development, confidence-building and a love for the sport.

In 2022, Cheryl was recognized as a Frank Erwin Award recipient and Hall of Fame inductee by the University of Texas Swimming and Diving Exes, honoring her contributions to the long-term success of the program. She continues her collaboration with UT Athletics by serving on the University of Texas Athletics Women’s Hall of Honor Selection Committee through 2029.

Cheryl’s coaching experience also spans age-group and Masters programs. She currently serves as a WHAC Masters coach, is an avid swimmer and leads the Women’s Swim for Fitness program. In addition, she provides private coaching sessions to help both youth and adult swimmers improve efficiency, strength, and confidence — all while keeping training engaging and fun!

Passionate about athlete development and team culture, Cheryl is committed to helping swimmers grow both in skill and self-belief while fostering a positive, supportive environment. She is excited to work with WHAC WAVES swimmers and partner with the WHAC swimming community throughout the season!
